Programs

Tri-City Prevention Collaborative

The Tri-City Prevention Collaborative (TCPC) is a project of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition, with Vista Community Clinic serving as the fiscal agent.  Funds are provided by the County of  San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency through Alcohol and Drug Services.  The goal of TCPC is to reduce the harm of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in the cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista.   To reach this  goal,  TCPC is active in three areas which include:  the County Underage Drinking Initiative, the County Methamphetamine Strike Force Initiative, and the County Marijuana Initiative.  All three of these initiatives use public policy as an environmental prevention tactic to reduce problems associated with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs among youth in our community.

Drug Free Communities

The North Coastal Prevention coalition (NCPC) was one of the first recipients of funding from the federal Drug-Free Communities Support Program, beginning in October 1998.   This federal program was established through the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and managed by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) in an effort to strengthen America's substance abuse prevention infrastructure.  NCPC partnered with the Vista Community Clinic to administer the Drug-Free Communities Program.

North Coastal Prevention Youth Coalition

NCPYC provides a great opportunity for high-school age teens to get involved in their community.  By making a commitment to not use alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, NCPYC members become leaders, participate in county-wide prevention activities, and make presentations to government officials on the issues affecting youth access to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

NCPYC is coordinated through the Drug free communities program and collaborates with several prevention efforts, including: Tri-City Prevention Collaborative, the San Diego Youth Leadership Project, and Tobacco Control efforts funded by Proposition 99.
